Registered Architect, NCARB

Graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2004 from the University of Arizona in Architecture was the end of a long and varied career path that saw me start with a Biology Degree at the University of Saskatchewan progress to a restaurant line cook, then a Chef and then a Pastry Chef and end with my return to academia to pursue Architecture.

The University of Arizona helped me realize that my critical thinking skills and my ability to adapt and apply new technologies to design problems is one of my most imporant and valuable skills. I succeed at endeavors where the unknown is the dominant paradigm, teaching myself AutoCAD, 3D digital environments or whatever is needed to succeed at that endevour. Past experience as a Chef instilled a fine and acute sense of financial restraint and the ability to deliver creativity within a budget, supporting my dominant design philosophy of "Budget with Design" .

Coming full circle I now teach part-time at the University of Arizona College of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA), passing on my knowledge of Contracts, Construction Documents, Building Codes, Life Safety, Budget, Construction Estimating, and Building Structures to a new group of students. Professionally I collaborate with DKP Architecture and Consulting on new architectural projects as well as helping the non-profit Drachman Institute on unique small projects.

Thanks for visiting and I hope we can meet and talk in the future!
